Child Rescue Nepal frees children from slavery. We rescue children, keep them safe and reunite them with their families. Child Rescue Nepal has rescued over 1,000 children but our work is far from over. We want to end child slavery in Nepal and we won’t stop until every child is free.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am the CEO of Child Rescue Nepal. We rescue children from slavery and take care of them until they can safely return home and restart their education. The Coronavirus has impacted everything and continues to challenge us all in different ways. As a charity we are facing a significant shortfall in funds due to the postponement of the London marathon, changing priorities of trusts & foundations, and individuals understandably needing to reprioritise their giving. I wanted to do something positive to address this shortfall.

As I am going to be at home for the foreseeable future, I thought I would set myself an epic challenge. Mount Everest is 8,848 metres high, which is the equivalent of 3,277 flights of my stairs. I'd like to achieve it in a week - so that means climbing for about 2.5 hours every day. I'm going to start training now and start the challenge on Easter Monday.

I'm still recovering from a knee injury so I hope that I will be able to make it to the top.

I am really grateful to all those who are able to sponsor me at this difficult time. It means so much.

Jo xx
