We provide specialist advice & support to reduce the impact of NF.

Story

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2021 after a recall from my annual mammogram, aged 45. My brother and I have a genetic condition called NF1. NF1 can have several impacts. Women with NF1 have an increased risk of breast cancer and should be attending annual mammograms from the age of 40. My diagnosis was the start of 18 months of cancer treatment involving chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, and targeted biological therapy. Nerve Tumours UK support people with NF1 and raises awareness of this complex condition that affects about 26 000 people in the UK.
