Home-Start Spelthorne is a fantastic charity, with passionate staff and volunteers who make a real difference in the local community. 

Home-Start work with families experiencing a range of challenges including poor mental or physical health, postnatal depression, bereavement and financial worries. They work alongside families to give compassionate and confidential support, tailored to each family.

I have been lucky enough to volunteer for Home-Start Spelthorne, where I saw compassion, empathy, understanding at its best.

I am fundraising for Home-Start by (hopefully!) completing the Thames Path Challenge in September. 

The challenge involves walking a 100km route, which I will aim to complete over two days. The walk starts in Fulham and heads towards Putney Bridge past Hampton Court, through Shepperton all the way to Henley. I have never done anything like this before!

Despite being a keen walker, this is a bit more than my usual 10k steps a day, I anticipate a few blisters at the very least! However, I am determined, a bit naive perhaps - and what would life be if it didn't challenge us!
