‘Better Care, Healthier Lives’. We are the charity that exists to support St George’s hospitals and the communities they serve. Every day, our work makes a real difference to patients, their families and friends and the staff who care for them.

Story

I am climbing Kilimanjaro in October on a 9 day trek with my good friend Steve. We've never done anything like this before - we are usually found relaxing on a nice beach with our families for our holidays. The explorers within us and our sense of adventure attracted us to take on a big challenge together and admire our planet from 5800m in the beautiful country of Tanzania

I have chosen St George's Hospital charity to help support our hard work in ensuring our patients have good quality care and a positive patient experience on our wards. Charity funding enables us to provide equipment, comfort and safety measures for our patients to enable quicker recovery and also keep them in touch with their families with technology. Charity money also helps with refurbishments to patient and staff area to allow people spaces to rest and recover. There are some wards in greater need than others and I will work with the charity to ensure the money goes to those areas first for much needed improvements.
