Story
I want to push myself to the absolute limit to raise as much money as possible for the Princess Alice Hospice.
To do this I am taking part in Tough Mudder on Sunday 24th September. The Dairy Crest Team have kindly let me gate crash! 12 miles, more than 20 obstacles including ice baths, 15ft air swings, electroshock therapy and of course...loads of mud!!!
My Mum sadly passed away in the Princess Alice Hospice on 14th April 2016 after a short battle with cancer of the uterus. She was in hospital for nearly 3 months before the cancer was discovered, but by then she was not strong enough to undergo the treatment to fight it. Within a day or so of discovering the cancer, we were told that Mum had a place at the Princess Alice Hospice.
We were truly blessed for Mum to have a place at the hospice. She was there for nearly 2 weeks. Throughout this time, the staff were amazing, treating her with care, dignity and respect. My children visited my Mum at the hospice on several occasions. I hadn't taken them to the hospital, but at the hospice, they were relaxed, happy and really enjoyed being there.
Mum's last four days at the hospice, included myself and my sister sleeping by her side. The hospice gave my Mum and our family the most amazing care while she was there. I can't thank them enough.
What I can do is try and raise as much money as possible for the Princess Alice Hospice. They need to raise £9 million each year so that they can continue to provide this amazing care. I know how much this care and support means to patients and their families. It truly is priceless.
Any donation would be appreciated so much.
