Ilfracombe Round Table gives funding and volunteer time to community projects, charities and good causes. We are a group of young guys raising money and giving time to improve our community. Every penny we raise will help someone local in need, be it a club a cause or an individual.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I would like to thank Ilfracombe Round Table for holding this event, and agreeing for me to be able to split the money I raise between three charities that are close to me. I am taking part in the "Birdman" competition which involves jumping off a raised platform on Ilfracombe pier and trying to fly as far as possible before landing in the cold English sea to try to raise money for three charities: The Ilfracombe Round Table (see right), Guide Dogs for the Blind, and The Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo. Guide Dogs provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people. They also campaign for the rights of people with visual impairment, educate the public about eye care and fund eye disease research. We are puppy walking our 7th puppy for Guide Dogs and know how important this work is. The Orangutan Conservation Center at Sepilok, which conducts genuine, highly successful conservation of Orangutans, helps their survival, as they are constantly threatened by forest fires, tree felling, poaching and illegal hunting. Orangutans are an endangered species. I am travelling to Borneo to work as a volunteer looking after orphaned orangutans in March 2016.  The money I raise will help fund this important work.
I would be very greatful for any money you can donate, to support these charities that we are entering Birdman for.
Thank you.
