The need for impartial and objective research is nowhere more evident than in relation to concussion. Only through stringent, independent medical investigation can we establish if there is a clear association between recurrent head impact in sport and neurodegenerative disorders in later life. The CONCUSSION FOUNDATION is committed to funding research into the long-term effects of impact sport and supports the work being undertaken by The International Concussion and Head Injury Research Foundation Limited (ICHIRF)

Story

Fylde 1st's Medical team are hiking the 24 mile route of the Yorkshire Three Peaks for the Concussion Foundation. This Charity funds ground breaking research to explore the correlation between high impact sport and neurodegenerative disorders found later in life. The foundation also researches which athletes are resistant to changes in brain function following impact sports, an area we currently know little about.

Having worked extensively in collision sports we have seen many concussions and the consequences which follow, we rely on research to help us answer the unsolved questions. We hope to help fund new research which can be used within our work to support athletes recovering from head injuries.

We hope you can support our challenge!
