We envision a society where everyone has the same opportunities to learn, thrive, and lead, regardless of gender. Young people will build that world. With that in mind, we train and certify K-12 educators integrate gender equity into every aspect of school life, from curriculum to school policy.

Story

My Story

On the heels of International Women's Day, I'm excited to raise money for Teach About Women. Teach About Women is dedicated to harnessing the passion of students, teachers, and supporters to help K-12 (kindergarten through 12th grade) schools integrate gender equity into every aspect of school life, from curriculum to admission and hiring policies. I'm particularly excited about this charity's work to develop a history curriculum that actually includes the contributions of women. I love stories - and I think it’s so important that all students see themselves reflected in the stories of heroes, innovators and leaders that they study in school.

Brought together by our Manhattan running club in the West Village, we have decided to raise money for a number of fantastic causes by running an ultra marathon around Manhattan. An ultra marathon is defined as any footrace longer than the traditional marathon length of 42.195 kilometres (26 mi 385 yd). While we are all keen runners, none of us have achieved ultra marathon status yet so this will be a huge challenge for us all and one we hope you will agree is worthy of your donation and support. Please visit our team page to read more about the other charities we will be raising money for - each one holds a special place in our hearts.

Thank you for your support!
