I was very fortunate last year to be offered a ballot place in the 2014 Virgin London Marathon which has enabled me to run and support a local independent charity that has pulled at my heart strings on a number of occasions. I have chosen to support Happy Endings Rescue, which is an animal charity based in Kent. 

Sadly, many of their residents have been rescued from unhappy, cruel and neglected pasts.  Some of their permanent residents suffer from disabilities: some natural, some inflicted by past owners. Happy Endings is what they want for all of the animals who come into their care, this is why they will not put to sleep any animal that comes to them, unless they are medically advised that it is absolutely in the best interests of the animal. 

I have been following the activities of Happy Endings Rescue, and their amazing achievements, for a long time and I am in complete awe of both the dedication and selfless acts shown not only by Terry and Chris, who founded this wonderful charity, but by all of the volunteers and staff from professional organisations.  Without our generosity this charity, and a number of similar small independent charities, would not be able to exist. 

Every donation, even the smallest, will make such a difference.  Please help me raise money for Happy Endings Rescue, this is such a daunting and arduous challenge for me.. I need all the support I can get.  I just wish I'd done this years ago though as it's a very painful experience!!
