Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
At 11pm on Friday 14th July, myself and my son will start a 12-mile unique night-time hike which will be both physically and mentally challenging and reinforces the mental health messages of hope and that nothing is permanent, as we move out of the darkness and into the light….
Sadly more and more we hear of people not being able to move from the darkness .
In 2019 when Flynn was 15 his best friend lost his dearly loved 17 year old sister to suicide this meant Flynn saw first hand the devastating effect it had on his friend and family, a year later I lost one of my oldest friends in the same way .
If between us we can help one person see the light by raising funds for a much needed charity please donate .
Below are just some more reasons why these charities need as much support as possible
- Over 700,000 people take their own life each year – that’s one person every 40 seconds (World Health Organization)
- 115 people die by suicide in the UK every week – with 75% of those deaths being male (ONS)
- 1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts (NHS Digital)
- 1 in 14 people self-harm (NHS Digital)
- 1 in 15 people attempt suicide (NHS Digital)
- Males aged 45-49 have the highest suicide rate (Samaritans)
- 10% of young people self-harm (Mental Health Foundation)
