Story
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times
of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
My late husband John was so grateful to the staff at Sue Ryder’s St. John's Hospice in Moggerhanger. They looked after him with such care and kindness in his final days.
As some of you will know, during his lifetime John painted beautiful watercolours of local views and of places further afield. He was a self-taught but accomplished artist who exhibited and sold his paintings at galleries and exhibitions and often completed commissions for family, friends and colleagues. He would often paint on our holidays in Norfolk, Devon and France, as well as producing artwork for use in his work in civil engineering.
We’d like to give you the chance to own and display some of his wonderful work. We have a number of his watercolours and sketches available to buy at a charity auction in June this year. All proceeds will go to the hospice, to help them perform their vital role, and as well as the auction there will be some music, a raffle and the chance to get together and remember John.
The event takes place between 1 and 5pm on Saturday 18th June 2022 at the Scrum Bar at Bedford Blues Rugby Ground, Goldington Road, Bedford. We'd love to see you on the day, but if you are unable to come in person, it will be possible to view the auction lots online before the event and you can make a reserve bid if you wish. More details will follow nearer the day.....
Many thanks, Joanne xx
