National Three Peaks Challenge · 13 April 2013

MWL NHS Charity plays a vital role in supporting Whiston, Southport, St Helens and Ormskirk hospitals. We fundraise to provide enhanced facilities and state of the art equipment for patients across Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust.

Story

The people taking part in the challenge walk regularly as a group of friends.  Last year we walked each of the three peaks over an eight week period and at the end of this thought it would be a good idea to do it again over three consecutive days, this time for charity.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in females and is becoming more prevalent in males. This particular form of cancer has affected many of the groups family and friends with one close friend still receiving treatment.

Burney Breast Unit and the Lilac Centre at St Helens Hospital have provided tremendous support to our friends over the last few years and we wanted to give something back.

The challenge involves walking the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales over 3 consecutive days starting with Snowdon on 8th June, Scafell Pike on 9th June and Ben Nevis on 10th June.

We would be delighted if you could sponsor us and would be grateful of any donation for the charity.
