Cupcake Day 2019 · 13 June 2019 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I’m am raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake day. My Nan had dementia (she’s with the Angels). I went to see her in a nursing home, this was before she didn’t know me. It was a warm summers day. I’d previously been sunbathing and the sun has brought out a cold sore (lovely-not!). When she saw me, she kept saying “I hope you haven’t been in a fight?”. I kept saying “no” but after endlessly asking, I replied “yes”. She was very shocked and said “I hope you won?”. I said “yes, I did, you should have seen the other person!”. Even though I told a fib, think she was secretly proud! Not remembering is soul destroying. I personally don’t wish it to happen and the stats to get it are horrible. So if you’re able to spare a few pennies to give, big big thank you.
