Story
I'm fundraising for the Flying Start a wonderful charity that does such good work in communities abroad and in the UK working alongside comic relief! Please support me and help give children in the communities which we fly to the chance to have a brighter future.
I love doing what I can to raise money for Flying start and have completed many challenges such as walking from Brighton to London and trekking the Grand Canyon but this one really means something personal to me.
As a little girl and up to the age of 17 dancing was my life and my father was my biggest fan driving me all over the country, spending every penny he had on private lessons and my outfits ensuring I looked the best I could. You would always hear him in the crowd at competitions screaming ‘come on Jo’. When I reached 17, I went to work in Greece as a dancer for 6 months. That was the last time I danced, and my dad was devastated I stopped. The only time he gets to see me dance now is when we do the jive together at family Parties.
So, I am absolutely honoured and excited to have been chosen to take part in this year’s
BA does strictly. I can’t wait to see my father’s face when I take to the dance
floor once again.
Please donate all you can and if you want to buy tickets for
the event which is being held on the 27th September at the Thistle
Hotel T5, in the Aviation suite. Tickets cost £25 and will include a welcome
drink (bubbles) a dinner buffet and a great night of dance and music
