Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm 43 a mum of 6 and a half.  I got really sick 8 years ago.  A number of symptoms hit at once and it's been hellish since. I'm not going to list everything as it gets boring after awhile but the main to generalize, cluster headaches, muscles spasms, nerve pain and neurological problems. Prior to this I was very active everyday.

I was on oxycontin 60mg in the morning and 60 at night for years like a zombie. I put on lots of weight. It was horrible as I was still in pain. I begged for a change of medication.  I came off the oxycontin and got put on other stuff. So my journey began.

I started going to the gym to strengthen my arms  and other muscles so i could do more with my children. I have no idea how I got myself into the http://superheroseries.co.uk/2018-superhero-tri/  it just happened but I went along with it because it helped motivate me to keep going for my ultimate goal of going cycling on a handcycle with the children.

Eight months later it's here !!!! I am down to do the 20km handcycle part of the tri . I can smash it in the gym but I'm not sure how I'll be on the real deal as i haven't done much real cycling yet.

I have fulfilled my ultimate goal of cycling with my kids. I will finish the 20km however long it takes.

Please donate to help someone else rebuild their lives and their dreams.

Disabilities and chronic health conditions don't mean your life has to stop , it just means it needs to take a different path. Unfortunately specialist equipment to adapt things doesn't come cheap.

Please donate.

We introduce British injured troops to team endurance racing, starting with karting and progressing to car racing. They compete in mainstream racing against teams of non-injured drivers - on a totally level playing field, regardless of injury. They take part in races from 2hrs to 24hrs.
