London Bridges Challenge 2014 · 2 November 2014 ·

Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

Many of you will know that my best friend of over 30 years passed away in very unexpectedly in her sleep in April, a few days after her 49th birthday following many years of suffering from diabetes.

Along with her daughter and husband, I will be participating in the “London Bridges Challenge” crossing 12 London bridges and covering nine miles to raise funds to support the great work of this charity, which sadly does not share the spotlight like other charities.  This will be a warm up for me as I hope to undertake the Wainwright Coast to Coast Walk (192 miles) next year in her memory.

By participating, I hope to raise vital funds to support the work of Diabetes UK and also to raise awareness of the long term effects and debilitating complications that often arise from diabetes.

Any donation big or small will be very much appreciated – thank you for your support.
