Story
As I am hitting the big 4-0 later this year, I thought it would be a great opportunity to not only improve my fitness levels back but raise money for a very worthwhile cause while I do so.
My aim is to complete 40 different activities over the course of 2021 in support of Heads On. It is the official charity for Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust (SPFT), which provides adult and children mental health services across Sussex and Hampshire.
The Covid pandemic has seen an increased demand on its services which is why I have decided to help raise funds for this brilliant charity.
The tasks I had set myself vary but the first one was to run 150 miles in May. Sadly on day 4, after setting a pace and getting into the swing of things my ankle became badly swollen which turned out to be a stress fracture and resulted in me wearing a walking boot for six weeks. So it will be a while before I get my running shoes on again and I may even have to walk the 150 miles but the good news is I recently completed the inflatable 5K challenge with my friend Shelley, on top of giving crisps up for June. So two challenges down, 38 to go! On top of this I plan to complete a 15 mile walk, take part in a litter pick event and I will keep you posted on other challenges along the way!
