We have been friends with Heather for over 20 years and made some amazing memories with her. From our cheeky weekend trips away, having a WhatsApp group mostly chatting about our celeb spots and how many points we get, to gatecrashing Decs wedding in scotswood! We will always cherish them as some of the most funny, memorable times. 

Unfortunately Heather sadly passed away at the start of March after over 2 years battling with cancer. She is the strongest, bravest and most inspirational person we know. Heather tried every treatment she could and always battled through it with determination. 1 operation, 3 radiotherapies, 2 growth inhibitors, 5 different chemo’s all completed with varying success but unfortunately there was nothing more she could try. 

Heathers wish for her funeral was for donations to Maggies as a thank you for all the support they have given her. So we have decided to put our running shoes on and raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity in memory of Heather. 

Maggie's support people and families suffering with the effects of cancer. Maggies Centres offer practical and emotional support to people with any type of cancer, at any stage, for free. They receive no government funds and rely on the generosity of their supporters. They focus on the things that really make a difference, such as financial worries, housing, help with managing stress and anxiety as well as side efforts of treatment and family support. There are 24 centres in the UK welcoming 100+ visitors into each centre every day.
