We need your help to raise funds for our life-changing befriending and mentoring services - walk for Glasgow's young people at Kiltwalk 2025!

Story

Please help the team at Volunteer Glasgow and myself help raise money to support the Young Persons Befriending Service provide life-changing Befriending and Mentoring services for children by sponsoring me at the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2025.

On 26th April, I will be doing the Big Stroll from Clydebank to Balloch starting at 11am. It's a whopping 14 miles! But this is NOTHING compared to the amazing work being being done by the Volunteer Glasgow.

⚠️ As a result of a reduction in funding and therefore in capacity, Volunteer Glasgow's amazing Young Persons Befriending Service is not able to take on more referrals.

🙏 Please help us be able to respond. This is just one of the ways we will be fundraising to raise £110,000 over the next year to avoid service cuts. Every little helps!

Every child who was matched with a volunteer last year achieved one or more key outcomes – providing an element of protection, increasing confidence/self-esteem, skills, engagement in community activities, and/or accessing services for the wider family.

💙 £10 will fund one befriending visit/outing.

🩵 £500 will provide a child and their befriender/mentor with a year’s activity costs and ensures the befriender/mentor is never out-of-pocket because of their volunteering.

💚 £3,500 will provide sufficient funding for a year to support one child.

I have witnessed first hand just how precious the support the volunteer befrienders is. For more information, check it out here:
