Team: 24 Hour Otter Walk

Otter walk · 29 May 2021

IOSF was inspired by observing otters in their natural habitat. The otter lives, feeds and plays on land and in the water and is at the peak of the food chain so is an ambassador species to a first class environment. IOSF supports the world's 13 species of otter through compassion and science.

Story

I've lived near the Water of Leith for over 20 years ... but it took a chance encounter in December to spot an otter on the river for the first time. Since then I've become captivated by these beautiful animals.

I'm joining Ross, otter-spotting maestro, to walk as much as possible of Edinburgh's otter habitats for 24 hours. As well as looking for otters, we'll be talking to people about IOSF and the fantastic work they do.

IOSF is a leading otter charity, based in Scotland and spearheading work both in the UK and overseas. I want to raise some funds to 'give something back' for all the pleasure that otter-watching has given me in the past six months.
