The Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) cares for people suffering from an acquired brain injury, stroke or tumour. This charity enhances the facilities at CERU to make the patients and relatives as comfortable as possible. There are many possible causes for acquired brain injuries and the some of the most common at CERU are: Road traffic accidents, sports injuries and falls. The average length of stay for patients at CERU is 124 days, many being under 35 years old.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In June 2018 my brothers heart stopped and although he was saved he has been left with brain damage. In September of 2018 he was moved from Royal Papworth Hospital to the Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) in Leamington Spa to start his rehabilitation where he stayed till May 2019.

I am running the London Marathon to raise awareness and funds for CERU. Donations will enable the unit to purchase equipment to assist in the rehabilitation of their patients. In the past a mobility garden has been built from fundraising, an area much used by my brother. The support that is provided by CERU is not only for patients but for their families also.
