In memory of Linda Barford

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

After last years success and help from you all I completed the Humber  Half Marathon and raised a lot of money for the British Lung Foundation. Again in memory of my late Mum I am at it again!

As my mum loved to help others, my aim is to complete an event (Maybe more) each year to remember her and do something she would be proud of.

As I have a connection with the North East and been a spectator at the event I always thought I would like to do it and now......I am!

The charity itself has been brought to my attention as I have played football for a number of years and recently have heard so many stories of young people losing their lives suddenly on the pitch and would like to do a little bit to help.

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk.
