PARAS'10 TAB · 27 May 2023

Pilgrim Bandits know that adversity, challenges and obstacles serve to strengthen the human spirit. But for some of those we support, just to smile or enjoy the company of others, is an almost insurmountable task. We endeavour to get them to believe in a life worth living again. Through Pilgrim Bandits they push to new limits. They help others. They inspire children and young people by working with schools and care centers. Some say that we are a charity, we say were a charitable force.

Story

On September 30th, 2023, dedicated instructors from the South West London Army Cadet Force 13 company are gearing up for an inspiring challenge – the PARAS’10 TAB, which stands for Tactical Advance to Battle, a demanding race known as the PARAS’10 Run.

Our mission goes beyond the race itself. We are rallying together to raise funds in support of Pilgrim Bandits, an organization that extends a helping hand to injured veterans hailing from military and blue-light backgrounds. Moreover, Pilgrim Bandits offers invaluable guidance and assistance to veterans who have unfortunately found themselves detained or caught up in the criminal justice system.

The PARAS’10 event is a test of endurance rooted in the historic '10 Mile March,' which was originally part of the entrance assessment for Paratrooper recruits. For those of us undertaking the TAB challenge, this means conquering a diverse and demanding 10-mile course while shouldering a 35lbs backpack – symbolizing the weight of a small child. Our endeavor is not just about the physical journey; it's about embodying the resilience and strength our veterans demonstrate in their lives.
