We're here to enrich the lives of people with MS & other long term health conditions, providing a range of services in a caring, supportive & positive environment. A registered charity working to renovate our new Centre to bring much more to the table for our members, their families and friends.

Story

For the past 15 months I have been working as a physiotherapist at the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Trafford. During this time, I have witnessed the amount of hard work and dedication it takes to keep the centre running. This is often carried out by volunteers, many of whom also have MS themselves. This ranges from the cleaning of the centre, facilitating therapy classes to managing the overheads and endless fundraising. The charity is in the process of moving premises and they are trying to raise close to £1 million to refurbish the site and equip it with relevant equipment. This will allow for more dedicated therapy services as well as continue to be a place for many MS sufferers to meet and socialise. In my opinion, this is invaluable for those who are often left with a diagnosis and not a great deal of support to manage their life long condition. The MSTC have great aspirations to build on their development to date and I would love to help them see their new centre come to fruition.

On a personal note, I decided to stop playing 11 a side football a year ago and thought dipping my toe into the world of triathlons would be enough to keep me motivated. Last year, I completed a short distance triathlon and can say, it was far harder than I had anticipated. That's why this year, I have decided to challenge myself further and go one better. I am aiming to complete the Manchester 10k (May 19th), a sprint distance triathlon in Abersoch (29th June) and then the Olympic distance in the Lake District (17th June) in August. I hope that my personal challenge will inspire people to donate. Any contributions towards this great cause will be greatly appreciated to help the MSTC and the amazing staff/volunteers to continue their fantastic service.

Thanks for reading, Joe. x
