Story

We are holding a football match in memory of Joe Markiewicz, who passed away on 18th September 2019, aged just 16. Joe was taken from us in unexpected circumstances and he is missed every day. He was a positive young man, and we want to remember him in a positive way of raising money for the air ambulance charity.

Joe was a popular young man, both in school (Barming Primary, Aylesford Secondary) and at home. He had a wide circle of friends in and out of school, as well as in his football club (Barming Youth) and cricket club (Maidstone Mote).

Joe was an avid Maidstone United fan and we are holding the match at the Gallagher Stadium on Friday 18th August 2023. Gates open at 6pm, with a talk from the Air Ambulance Service, prior to kick off at 745pm. The teams will be made up of Joe's school, and football mates, as well as other friends.

We are raising money for Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust, who tried to save Joe's life and were able to airlift him to Kings College Hospital so that it gave time for his devoted family and friends to say goodbye.

Thank you in advance for donating in Joe's memory.
