Dr Kershaw's Hospice provides free, specialist, end-of-life and palliative care (an area of healthcare that focuses on relieving and preventing the suffering of patients) for adults with life-limiting illnesses in Oldham and its surrounding areas in a peaceful and homely environment.

Story

My brother and I are raising money for Dr. Kershaw's Hospice on the weekend of the 5th March. We are taking part in a challenge of running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. A challenge set by David Goggins (a mad man). Starting on the Friday evening at 4pm and finishing on the Sunday at 12pm.  A total of 48 miles over 12 runs with sleep deprivation!

Dr Kershaw’s requires £3.6 million to run the hospice per annum. Yet less than a third of this is government funded, for the rest they rely on fundraising and donations. This fundraiser is in memory of our amazing Gran who received fantastic care from Dr. Kershaw’s staff. Their aim is to add quality to the lives of those with life limiting illnesses.
