Lord Mayors Bike Ride (Portsmouth) · 23 March 2014 ·

HIWCF is an independent charitable foundation connecting donors with the local causes and charities they care about in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We award grants to smaller voluntary organisations, community groups and charities to help people in need across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm planning on cycling around Portsmouth Island which is 16 miles total. Originally I wanted to do this on a space hopper as Richard suggested but apparently that’s not allowed (Hannah).

So instead I'll be cycling around on my tiny childs bike... should be fun. I'll be raising money for the Lord Mayor's appeal. Which basically means that the proceeds I raise will be divided up distributed amongst the following charities:

50% will go to Brain Tumour Research at Portsmouth Uni, which will help fund research into this area and ultimately improve the outcomes for people diagnosed with this.

The rest will be divided amongst the Baffins pond environmental study centre and Portsmouth young carers.

Finally if you have any suggestions for what I should wear on this cycle ride just post in the comments (hopefully everyone will say pirate as that’s the only costume I have) but whatever.

Cheers,

Joe
