One dreary day in November Sheo convinced Joe to do a marathon with her. 'Its not until May'... 'its ages away'... 'we have plenty time to train'! With very little thought, Joe thought 'why not? I don't see any issue with that' and within 24 hours of asking, had signed himself up. Joe then started training while Sheo took a few too many rest days (more like rest weeks but who's counting). So here we are, with 6 weeks to go and a whole lot of catch up training for one of us to do! Training or no training, we will both be stumbling across mile 26(.2) ready for a nap and a cuppa tea.

Since we are both running 26.2 miles ( 54.4 in total #quickmath) it seems only sensible to have something more than stamina to keep us motivated. That's where Glasgow City Mission comes in. We wanted to raise money for a charity which supported people who were struggling, people in a place close to both our hearts (Glasgow) and who aimed to share Jesus with anyone and everyone.
Each individual person's story is unique. Some of us can be open and honest about our struggles, whereas for some of us its something we keep more private. It is so important that no matter how you are struggling, you can get help when you need it. Glasgow City Mission reach people across Glasgow (and beyond) to help support them when they most need it, from providing counselling and mental health support, to aiding children and young families, to helping fight homelessness. It is a joy to know that these kinds of charities exist and it gives us such great joy to be able to raise money for the wonderful work that they do.
