I've been wanting to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End for ages, and this is my last chance to do it before I hit 29, aka 50.
To be frank (not Joe :-) I wasn't going to ask for sponsors for my cycle ride, its not that sort of ride, but so many people have bugged me about it that I have decided to put this page up. The money you sponsor me for will go to help children and their local communities, in some of the poorest places in the world.
We currently sponsor a child in Nepal via Plan International, and what I would really prefer for sponsorship for my ride is that you also sponsor a child. Its only about £15/month and if you have kids you can get them to write to the sponsored child, a pretty good experience for your kids and it might help them realise how lucky they are to have been born in the UK. You can choose the country and sex of the child if that would make it more relevant to your children.
If you dont want to accept the commitment to do that, you can still cough up some money here and it will go to Plan anyway.
Otherwise (or as well) go to http://www.plan-uk.org/ or
simply click on the the Plan UK logo opposite to sponsor a child.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Plan UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
