Iditarod Trail Invitational, 1100 miles · 20 December 2007

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I am running 1100 miles across Alaska in the Iditarod Trail Invitational Race. The race, comprising of only 50 invited ultra-endurance athletes, starts on the 24th Feb 2008. Competetors compete solo and cross mountain ranges and frozen sea ice during the course of the race. All in sub zero temperatures, high winds and blizzards. Nearly all supplies are carried for the duration of the race and competetors are entirely self sufficient. I hope to finish in around 25 days, covering ~50 miles per day.

I am the youngest entrant and am the only British person to ever attempt the 1100 mile full distance race.

Please support the Multiple Sclerosis Society and donate through this site, or contact me at joseph_johnstone@hotmail.com to discuss donating in another way.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: MS Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
