It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

My name is Joel Reid and I am 14 years old. Four years ago my little sister became very ill with kidney failure. She was nearly two years old at the time and our family spent many weeks at the Birmingham Children's Hospital. After that, Keziah was able to have dialysis at home every night with the hospital's support, and this carried on for three years. Then, this July (2013) Keziah had a kidney transplant. The staff at the BCH have helped our family so much over the years - I would like to help them by trying to raise money - so that other children like Keziah can also get the best facilities, equipment and care. We are so thankful to God and to the BCH for giving my sister a new opportunity of life. Please help the staff at the BCH to continue their amazing work by sponsoring me to do this abseil.
