This year at Northern Ireland Children's Hospice we cared for over 370 children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, in both our inpatient unit - Horizon House and in the local community. We rely on your generous donations to continue to fund our vital services.

Story

A few family members and myself are doing 8 mile of the marathon to raise money for the children's hospice in memory of my little cousin Abbie McGreevy who sadly passed away on the 22nd March of this year at the age of 4 months.

Abbie had a condition called Microcephaly which is a neurodevelopmental disorder. Microcephaly is a rare medical condition in which the circumference of the head is smaller than normal because the brain has not developed properly or stopped growing. Microcephaly can be present at birth or it may develop in the first few years of life.  The hospice nurses where brilliant both when she was in the hospice and in the hospital during her last few days in the hospital.
