Fundraising for The Oli Leigh Trust by running the Half Marathon

Joel Walters is raising money for The Oli Leigh Trust

Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025 · 12 October 2025 ·

The Oli Leigh Trust has been established to deliver free online and in house training to schools in the UK. Suicide among young people aged 10-24 is at a 19-year high and is rising every year. Training can make a difference. Suicide is preventable not inevitable.

Story

On October 12th, I’ll be taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for a cause that means a great deal to me - The Oli Leigh Trust.

This charity was created in memory of Oli Leigh, a bright and caring young man who took his own life at just 16. Oli was someone who always looked out for others yet struggled to share his own pain.

The Trust supports small charities and organisations across the UK that provide suicide prevention and mental health education for young people - work that is urgently needed and can genuinely save lives.

I am proud to be taking on this challenge in support of such an important cause as well as honouring and continuing Oli’s legacy. If you’re able to donate, I’d be incredibly grateful - every contribution, big or small makes a difference.

Thank you for your support. Let's do this!
