Leeds Rag Croatia Hitch · 9 July 2010

Leeds Mencap offers compassionate, tailored support to children and young people in the city who have learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. We support both them and their families and carers to develop their strengths, build lasting connections and achieve their full potential.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Leeds Mencap is a local branch of the national charity Mencap, which helps children and adults with learning difficulties. When we were told that the branch here in Leeds has had their funding removed by the government, this event has set up to help them get back on track.

On Friday 9th July 2010, myself and two others as a team as part of a large group of people taking part, will leave Leeds University on a 1500 mile journey to Petrcane in Croatia. WE have been allowed two weeks to hitchhike there, and will be updating you with our progress every step of the way. It sounds tough, and it is going to be, but one thing's for sure it will be very rewarding.

Please find it in your heart to donate, even if its just a few pounds, every little helps, and I would be very grateful for anything.

Thank you very much,

Joe x
