Story

Myself and a few guys are going to undertake the National 3 Peaks challenge on 2nd July 2021 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. This will involve climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. The three peaks are:

  • Ben Nevis / Beinn Nibheis (1,345 m or 4,413 ft), the highest mountain in Scotland
  • Scafell Pike (978 m or 3,209 ft), the highest mountain in England
  • Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m or 3,560 ft), the highest mountain in Wales

The total distance walked is estimated at 26 miles, with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 m).

Why have we chose to support Macmillan?

Both sides of the team captains family have been touched by cancer and recently have sadly lost three family members to the disease. Along side this, they also have one member of the their business currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

The Macmillan nurses were simply fantastic when dealing with those affected. Despite their short time involved, they made a real impression and inspired us to organise an event where all proceeds raised will go to Macmillan.

The fantastic guys at Rebel UK who have also suffered loss of friends and family members from this horrible disease have also offered to design some amazing T-shirts for the 3 Peaks Challenge and are donating sales of these to the chosen charity of Macmillan.
