Story
In May 2023 I am cycling in the world famous RideLondon! I have always strived to fundraise in memory of my brother, Matty. In 2018 I ran the London marathon and was training to run it again in 2020 before Covid hit. Unfortunately, despite having a place in the 2021 marathon, I had to pull out due to over a year of injuries and health problems and have not been able to run properly since. I have been wanting to complete another event in memory of Matty. I took up cycling during the pandemic and have been commuting 10 mile a day to work since. Although I am a keen cyclist and enjoy fitness, the 100 mile RideLondon will be a big challenge and significantly further than I had cycled prior to training. My family appreciate every penny donated.
Please help me to raise money for research into alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma and to raise awareness for childhood cancer, to help catch cancer early.I'm supporting my brother Matty's To The Moon and Back Fund at CCLG, because no child should have to go through what Matty did. Matty was a bright, funny, happy, 10 year old when he was diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma in November 2010. He endured 6 months of intensive chemotherapy and 28 daily sessions of radiotherapy. He was brave, dignified and an absolute star. Matty died at home surrounded by love on 26th July 2011. He was 11 years old.
