Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I know it's not my first sponsored event, so thank you for finding out more about this one.

I've worked in HR for quite a few years now, but this year I've faced one of my hardest challenges yet, working with a colleague fighting terminal cancer.

It was made easier though, by having a shared desire to make others lives better.

My colleague Wayne sadly passed away on 19th August this year after a resolute fight.

I think I started jogging a few years ago in an attempt to get fit. Wayne was one of the early encouragers on my mission.

Throughout his battle with the ****** C word he fought long and hard to beat it, whilst selflessly raising money for a charity that became close to his heart.

Children with Cancer are funding research, supporting families, raising awareness and campaigning for children and young people affected. In Wayne's way, let's raise funds for children who may not have experienced even half of what we've already enjoyed in life, by donating to this cause working to make their lives better.

Now I may have been jogging for a few years, but not regularly, so this challenge won't be easy, but knowing that Wayne, and all of those children out there have fought hard for their lives, I can surely make it round a 13.1 mile jog!!

Please remember to add GiftAid to your donation if you are able to, as it means the charity get more money without you spending a penny more.
