Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Standing together with communities experiencing injustice, we fight for trade that values people over profit. We used to be called Traidcraft Exchange.

Story

I DID IT!!! I'm so pleased that i managed to finish, as my training has been a bit of a disaster! But I did it, and ran all the way, in a time of 4hrs 44mins and 53secs. The atmosphere was fantastic and really kept me going. Thank you to eveyone who has sponsored me - I really appreciate it. Here's to next year... or not!

I have decided that this is the year that I finally run in the London Marathon.

Am I mad? Yes, probably!

Am I nervous? Yes, a bit!

Can I do it? YES... definitley!

I am running in aid of "Traidcraft Exchange", the charitable wing of Traidcraft, the pioneering fair trade organisation. Through their work, millions of people in the third world have benefitted from a fairer price for the produce that they make. I've been into fair trade issues for many years, really since my 12 months volunteering in Uganda 20 years ago, and would like to raise as much money as possible for Traidcraft.

So... PLEASE SPONSOR ME!! And I promise, I'll love for forever!!

Cheers, JIM

PS I've said that I'll raise £2,500. That's nearly £100 per mile. So please be generous as I'll be going through a lot of pain for this.

PPS Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
