Why Meningitis Now? Meningitis can affect anyone at any age. One of my good friend's sons died of meningitis at just three months old. She has done a huge amount of work raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of meningitis, and has raised a lot of money for charity in the process. This has included all sorts of musical and artistic activity, which is not my thing, so I'm doing this...
In August 2017 I booked a place to run four marathons in four consecutive days, taking place in March 2018. Training went reasonably well (how do you train for 4in4?), including running five half marathons in five consecutive days (mostly in the rain) at the end of January. In March it snowed. A lot. The organisers had no choice but to reschedule the event. On what would have been day 4, I ran a marathon on a treadmill - wouldn't recommend it!
Summer came and went, and suddenly the rescheduled 4in4 was upon me.
Event completed! 2018 marathon personal best on day one. Third female finisher on day two. Could hardly move on day three, but battled through! Third female overall in the 4in4.
