Story
Those who know me will know my Mum has had it ROUGH. In 2008 she was diagnosed with Grade 3 Breast Cancer. After a mastectomy and chemotherapy she was NED (No Evidence of Disease). After celebrating 10 years cancer-free, in 2018 she was diagnosed again, this time with Secondary Breast Cancer with metastases to the lymph nodes, lungs, liver, bones and bowel. Sadly, she is incurable. She has been treated by The Christie for 13 years now, and they have been incredible from the start. My Mum would not be here if it weren't for them, it's that simple. We are so lucky to have this wonderful facility on our doorstep and so it's about damn time we repaid them! Like most charities, they have struggled over the past year; unable to host fundraisers, less footfall in the hospital donation spots and having to close their doors to the charity shop so I'm going nuts and launching myself out of a plane from 15,000 feet, it's the least I could do really! Thank you for reading, donating and sharing.
