On Sunday 7th August 2022 I will be taking part in Audax UK's London- Edinburgh-London challenge ride.
See https://londonedinburghlondon.com/ for more information
Basically, all you have to do is ride 1,519.9km (about 944 miles) in 125 hours, which includes eating, sleeping, drinking and all the other things that you need to do in that period.
The ride starts in Debden, north east London and heads up to Hull before crossing the Pennines towards Carlisle and then on the the most northerly point, Dumfermline, before turning back to Edinburgh and following a similar route back to the start.
I'm riding with 2 cycling buddies and I know that there will be laughs, jokes, smiles, frustration, pain and sleep depravation along the way but we'll pull together as a team to keep our legs turning, our heads in the right place and our thinking positive.
I'm raising funds for BIADS as I've been touched by the stories that people close to me have shared about their first hand experienced of the amazing support that BIADS provide, not only to the sufferers of alzheimers and dementia but also to their loving and dedicated carers.
Thanks to everyone for your donations and more information on Barnsley Independent Alzheimers and Dementia Support and the great work that do can be found here.
