Swim for Parkinson's · 10 October 2022

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

I have lived with Parkinson's Disease for several years, having led a very active life with my wife Elaine. We have been cycle touring in various parts of Europe, ballroom dancing, dinghy racing as well as other interests.

I am approaching my 85th birthday. I had hoped to cycle 85 miles by way of celebration. Parkinson's has prevented that. Instead I am hoping to swim 850 metres, starting on 1st October and finishing on my birthday, Monday,10th October.

I am hoping to raise money for Parkinson's UK and Parkinson's UK Cambridge branch through taking on this challenge. I would be hugely encouraged and thrilled, if you would support me by donating to my Just Giving account. No amount is too small. All money raised will be used to forward research and raise public awareness of this debilitating disease.

Thank you so much for reading this.

The money will be divided equally between Parkinson's UK and Parkinson's UK, Cambridge branch.
