There is a reunion planned by former pupils of Trinity Catholic High School in August and there will be a toast I am sure to absent friends wherever they may be    Maria Falco was at Trinity at that time, a beautiful girl whose dimpled smile I remember vividly to this day (and I left Trinity at the end of the second year)   Maria died after succumbing in her battle against breast cancer in 2005, but not before she'd worked tirelessly to campaign for greater understanding and means for future generations to defeat it

It's a sentimental rationale and I am raising money for two other charities, but I hope you will support the Maria Falco memorial Trust and also raise a glass to absent friends
