<p>However we first came to know John Brooke one thing is sure, it was through an organisation that he was giving to. Not financially, but with his time, his heart and soul and his very being of helping and decency.</p> <p>From his early days in Scouting starting in the 40's where he ran the 3rd Chiswick for almost four decades, through his spells as District Commisioner and then to County Commisioner, or as the Chairman of Chalfont Heights Camp Site where he oversaw the purchase of the Freehold securing the Camp Sites future and (almost single handedly) carried the fundraising of several hundred thousand pounds for the Rowallan building... and most recently through his tireless fundraising over the last 10 years or so for the Macmillan Cancer Nurses where together with Phyll they raised around &pound;3000 per year, John has been relentless in helping others.</p> <p>Now you have the opportunity to donate whatever you can afford in his memory. In his last days he was helped by the very Macmillan Nurses that he had helped to raise money for, so it will be a fitting tribute.
