We provide a helpline, and webchat service to help prevent suicide in the UK

Story

My friend Robert Kettle and I plan to visit all 92 football league clubs and four more to promote awareness of depression and also to raise funds for CALM - The campaign against living miserably. Our trip is being done entirely in our own time and completely from our own finances. Every single penny goes to charity.

Gary Speed's death in November 2011 really shocked the world in general and kick-started the whole debate about male depression and suicide. Football is a great way of bringing people together and events like this can be positive in promoting awareness and looking to tackle the taboo subjects that men don't talk about their emotions or problems. We really want to promote a healthy approach to admitting that sometimes life gets too much and it's perfectly fine to say that.

CALM (CAMPAIGN AGAINST LIVING MISERABLY) - www.thecalmzone.net do great work in combatting what was listed above and your donation goes a long way in providing their phone lines with the opportunity to eventually provide support to anyone at any second in the day.

Thanks for your support as it means a lot

About the charity

We’re the Campaign Against Living Miserably and we’re taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling hopeless, standing up to stereotypes and showing life is always worth living.125 lives are lost every week to suicide. 75% of all UK suicides are male. We exist to change this.
