Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge with Alison for Sense · 7 June 2021

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

With the help of Ripon Runners -Alison who is deaf and blind
is walking the three peaks of Yorkshire over a period of 3 days. Alison was born deaf but has lost  her sight slowly due to Ushers -Before this Alison was a competent BSAC Sports Diver -Rock Climber-BCU  Instructor- Canoed for GB on the Disabled side  Sprint -X Country Skier and Downhill and has participated in free fall parachuting -bungee jumping -off road driving-off
shore sailing -Alison passed her driving test 1st time ,so as you
can see, with our help and yours, this walk will help Alison bring her confidence back and help the loneliness that she now feels.

Alison also has Bella -a working guide dog, she is a great friend and companion and enjoys a good walk.

I'm fundraising for Sense, a charity that believes that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. We believe this too!

Their experts offer personalised support through their centres, holidays and short breaks, or in people’s own homes. They are here for everyone who needs them, for as long as they need them – providing early intervention for children, helping young people access education, and supporting the transition into adulthood and beyond.
