Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
it is my hope to raise as much money as possible for the liver trust by completing the Tough Mudder UK run in september.
in march we all lost a great friend in michael, who passed away in tragic circumstances after a night of drinking in rochdale, michael suffered from many ailments throughout his life, the most prominent during the latter period was a liver transplant and subsequent battle with mental illness.. it is for this reason i have chosen the liver trust as the charity i hope to raise money for.you can find out more about the liver trust and the brilliant work they do here; http://www.britishlivertrust.org.uk/
for those who dont know what tough mudder is, its a 12 mile mixed terrrain assault course regarded as the hardest in the world, which such obstacles as underwater ice tunnels, electric fences and huge barriers and obstacles to ensure only the fittest and most determined people can complete it, you can find out more here; http://toughmudder.co.uk/.
michael was recognisable primarily by his great mane of curly hair, and i will be completing the run in the biggest afro wig i can find as tribute, also there is some talk of the legendary pink hotpants being brought out of retirement....
as a little side challenge of my own for those that know me as the hedonistic party animal and not the benevolant honourable type, i shall be ceasing all consumption of alchohol for the two months leading up to the event, if you see a drink in my hand you are permitted to slap me in the face with a trout, or whatever comes most conveniently to hand.
if you knew and loved michael, or even if you have never heard his story before i hope you can find it in yourself to give towards this excellent cause, to understand and prevent things like this happening to the millions of other people out there who need help.
