Hello, my name is John Clarke and I am a lifelong Burton Albion fan. In July 2022 I was offered a voluntary position as part of Burton Albion’s Academy Coaching Team. This has changed my life immeasurably. I became part of a massive close family of people who care deeply for one another. 

I work alongside former professional footballer and Derby County captain Shaun Barker. Through the blossoming of our friendship I found out about Shaun’s charitable foundation. 

"The Shaun Barker Foundation was set up with the aim to help as many people in the Derby and surrounding area, supporting underprivileged children was as the forefront of it all. Although we are in the early stages, the response and support received has been overwhelming and we are beginning to create an exciting charity that will help raise money and awareness for three key areas Shaun had chosen; Arts and Culture, Social Care and Sports in the Community"

Beginning on Thursday, 1st December 2022 I will be embarking on a 50 Mile ride in my Powerchair (this will completed over a three month period, ending Wednesday, 1st February). I will be tracking my mileage through the Strava App and updating this page regularly.
