South Coast Challenge 2021 · 4 September 2021 to 5 September 2021 ·
In August 2020 after having my appendix removed I was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP). In November 2020 I underwent an 8 hour long operation to remove various internal organs during cytoreductive surgery plus HIPEC chemo. Recovery from such major surgery takes up to 6 months and during this time I've been supported by Pseudomyxoma Survivor as I recover both physically and mentally.
My recovery has gone really well so I'm raising funds for this small charity by walking 55km across the South Downs with my wife, Pilar. Funds raised will help other sufferers to receive the same support that I did.
Pseudomyxoma Survivor is a non-profit organization, run by patients and caregivers. We have a thriving support community supporting anyone whose life has been touched by pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) as well as appendix cancer and other peritoneal surface malignancies. We’re completely dependent on voluntary donations. Our patron is Sean Hepburn Ferrer. Sean’s mother, Audrey Hepburn, passed away shortly after being diagnosed with PMP.
