Thames Path Challenge 2018 · 8 September 2018 to 9 September 2018 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

On the 8th September the Cunningham team of Rachel, John and Aunty Sue are going to take on the Thames Challenge. This is a 28k walk along the river Thames from Putney to Hampton Court, to raise money for a charity very dear to our heart, Teenage Cancer Trust.

We would love to raise as much money as possible for the charity as it is one that has affected Rachel and all of our family personally. 5 years ago Rachel was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer, which was a massive shock and a huge disruption to all of our lives. However, we are very happy to say that today she has been in remission for 4 years and had the all clear, and throughout the experience, the charity was an incredible help to both Rachel and the family in the battle against cancer.  We really couldn’t have coped without the help of this amazing charity!

During Rachel's treatment she spent some time on both an adult ward and one of the Teenage Cancer Trust Wards (in UCLH) and she really can’t stress enough how different those experiences were!

Teenage Cancer Trust helps many young people diagnosed with cancer in the UK, by bringing them together so they can be treated  by teenage cancer experts, in the best place for them.

We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the charity and would be very grateful for any support you can give, no matter how small a donation!
